Back Pocketing:

A noticeable trend on the LA scene of men. This is a tendency to have one or more women available to you should the primary one disappoint or get too particular. Yes, it is something that seems distinct to LA Men, however, it could be a nationwide scenario.
Being a woman who has lived in many cities and dated, I never experienced such 'gamey' men as I did in LA. I simply refer to them as 'The Back Pocket Boys of LA' - for this reason. There is always more than one woman available, so if you are a woman, do not be blind to this strategy of the men in LA. Its prevalent and has been witnesses by and admitted to me, on more than one occassion, by a "back-pocketing" guy himself. It is easier here. Its a large sprawling urban environ, where traffic can easily be any excuse, but mainly people work in jobs that could allow them to be much more mysterious- like being in a studio to finish a recording, or working on a TV show that is filming all night. One can buy into the story, stories are usually good in LA.
Being a tech-girl myself, I think of 'backing-up" in a much different way. But we all learn, I sure did.
Just watch yourself is my firm advice. Players is the name of the game, so if you like to play, you will do just fine.
